Setting the context, Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales, Indeed India, said, “Within the past year, we’ve witnessed unprecedented technological advancements and economic conditions that have left a lasting impact on the jobs market. Our data shows that there seems to be a cautious approach to hiring for tech jobs, indicating that other areas such as finance, operations, digital marketing and accounting are sunrise sectors for jobseekers to explore.”
Areas in demand
The list included only five jobs in the technology sector, which is a decline from 15 such jobs in the previous year’s list. The reason could be the rapid transformation due to changes in underlying technologies for such jobs.
Some of the other top jobs connoted the changing nature of work with roles such as social media manager, digital marketer and therapists emerging on the list. This mirrored a global trend: The top jobs in the US, according to its data, included profiles critical for wellbeing, such as mental health professionals.
